Who wants to go as Karma Chickens again?
I promise if I go I will not make the entire week be all about building the dome lighting project like last year. Perhaps a theme camp with a couple days before Sunday to raise the dome would be good.

however... this Friday is a party at Octagon's new shop in Sac. A perfect place for a Chicken swarm and a great way to kick off the advanced planning season. Check the Sac Valley Burners tribe for details. -

Tue, February 19, 2008 - 10:13 AMI'm planning to come back x2 this year.
I'm sporting a minor case of second-year-itis, with a number of projects up in the air right now.
I'm still really interested in making the dome a 'cooler' place to hang out next year, somehow coming up with more reasons for people to congregate there. (music, easy access to cold beverages, stronger/more shade)
I've got an EL-wire costume in the works
and some other stuff, which will probably drop off if I procrastinate much. -

Tue, February 19, 2008 - 11:00 PMWell, I would tell you to take it easy and focus on one or two things, but I know you won't listen. Because I didn't! (And I think part of the magic is people trying way more than they can actually do and succeeding more than they expected).
If we file for being a theme camp, we have to come up with reasons we would make a good one. Having more in the dome than just food and chill space is specifically listed on the theme camp page. So you adding more to the dome is a good idea and I will also be thinking about it. -

Not planning to go but still have hope and a sliver of a chance
Thu, February 21, 2008 - 9:00 AMBob and me have a lot going on this summer. I'm getting a grandson in June and we are having a wedding the second week in September!!
I'm thinking, if we plan this wedding right we can still make a quick trip home to the KC camp if we keep it real simple. Maybe just an easy breezy car camping coupla days sans barn and extras. I pains me to think about missing this year!
I'm hopeful but can't commit right now. Looking forward to seeing some of you at Capn Chucks party Friday!
Brad, Chuck says he will have these parties every couple of weeks until the Burn so hoping you get another chance to join us.

Sun, March 23, 2008 - 6:03 PMI think one 'big' idea for the dome would be to improve the shade it generates. I know I wound up hiding out under the quanset hut because the shade was a little more complete. Then we set up the "DJ booth" (a table) and have some standard ice chests and seating, and viola!
Just my thoughts. Totally going with the flow as it comes up, just want to contribute ideas. I had the most fun when we spent some time in the dome together as a camp, and want to foster that this year :)
