Someone caught a bit of video from the first Monday out on the playa.
A dust devil carried off someone's shade structure and took it ~wayyyy~ up.

re: the video:
I am surprised that people could even spot that tent whirling around way up in the sky!
There was quite a bit of zoom on that camera.

Re: the Monday dust and winds
Mon, September 22, 2008 - 5:49 PMThe weather on Monday was pretty incredible but not nearly as bad as any of the storms of last year. I was glad I was there, I love storms on the playa. I got to stress test my new dome on it's first full day up and it preformed fantastically. I also go to run around open playa in a complete and total whiteout which is a fantastic if somewhat scary feeling. Julie and I made it out to the man, climbed him, and then got back home without ever getting seriously off track. Our awesome new dust masks made walking around in the storm really comfortable like the dust wasn't even there. Totally erased any doubts as to whether they were worth the $120 we spent on them.
